In early February, we had the pleasure of accompanying the French subsidiary of the company Maxi Zoo (Fressnapf Group based in Germany) in organizing its hybrid event.. An opportunity to call upon the expertise of Mediactive Broadcast (Mediactive Group, of which Wisembly is a part) to meet the needs of our client.

Let’s take a closer look at this exciting project.

How to unite teams based all over France ?

Maxi Zoo is the favorite pet store chain of the French, and such distinction translates notably into 40 new stores that were opened in 2023.

So it was only natural that to start 2024 properly, the Management Committee of the brand wanted to invite the employees of the head office and the Store Managers to a live meeting.

But organizing an endless event during which the management addresses its teams in a flat and top-down manner: that was a no-go !

People in a video studio in Paris

To give you some context,, the idea was to gather the employees of Maxi Zoo’s head office as well as the Store Managers in 12 hotels spread throughout France, so that the teams could follow the meeting live.

But then, how to unite teams that are not physically together? How to convey strong messages while taking into account their expectations ?

While Wisembly managed to bring the collaborators closer despite the distance by making this event interactive (we’ll talk about it at the end of the article), the Mediactive Broadcast team conceived and proposed a tailor-made concept, in line with the issues faced by Maxi Zoo’s teams in the field.

Organizing a live show in a hybrid format

More professional and impactful than a simple video conference, the live show allows you to stage your event and capture, but most importantly retain, your audience’s attention over time !

Here are our 4 secrets (not so secret anymore) to organize a dynamic, unifying, and above all, personalized live show, all in a hybrid format :

1) Editorial work serving your objectives

In the broadest sense: we called on the expertise of Ebra Productions for the conceptualization and editorial strategy part of Maxi Zoo’s event..

Because we advise and support our clients from A to Z, it was important for us that their script made sense.

To reinforce the sense of closeness, he editorial team strongly suggested that the show be hosted by a presenter from Maxi Zoo: : a real conduit between the field and the Management Committee, they were able to relay all the concerns of the teams with firsthand knowledge. Defining the messages you want to convey and, above all, how to communicate them, is a real job. Luckily, media training sessions and/or coaching for your speakers exist !

Regarding the content, while slideshows are essential, we also recommend going further: the team advised Maxi Zoo to produce field reports, and together we brainstormed interactive moments to implement in order to fully involve the audience on the D-day.. These are elements that we highly recommend implementing to make your event inclusive and support your speech (but we’ll come back to that in the last point).

2) Pay attention to content’s aesthetics

Thinking of your event as a real talk show is exciting, but it includes visual requirements… A challenge taken on by Mediactive Broadcast for Maxi Zoo, as our teams took care of the graphic and aesthetic dressing of the live event, including jingles, animations, adding a manual camera for nice mobile shots, and live production, for a professional result worthy of a TV show..

3) Choose a filming location that reflects your image

In this case, Maxi Zoo’s live show was filmed in our studio, located in Cité Paradis, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.

And we went all out :

The Mediactive Broadcast teams prepared a neat set design so that our Studio Paradis was filled with the atmosphere of a Maxi Zoo store ;

We made full use of our equipment for the event, including furniture, video control room, and sound system ;

The CEO of Maxi Zoo even brought his dog with him on set !

In summary, we recommend choosing a filming location that reflects who you are, where you feel comfortable, but also and above all, that fully meets your technical needs. Do you also want to use Studio Paradis for your next event? Mediactive Broadcast is at your disposal to talk about it !

4) …Wisembly !

The icing on the cake, ultimately.

Our all-in-one platform allows you to organize and manage your event comprehensively, from sending out invitations to animation and reporting statistics on the D-day. Our team is by your side to advise you and meet your needs, in the most personalized way possible.

In the case of the Maxi Zoo event, we set up on Wisembly :

– A dedicated landing page;
– A chat so that the 700 participants could interact with each other;
Moderation and tags on the chat, so that our client could manage the messages (including questions) sent by the participants;
Interactive modules, to boost engagement (two polls with over 300 responses each, two quizzes, and a satisfaction survey!).

In total, there were :
Over 400 messages exchanged throughout the event,
Over 1000 reactions sent (emojis in response to a message),
– And over 500 moods broadcasted (emojis sent during a live).

Despite the distance, all the employees were able to make the event come alive, interact with the Management Committee as well as with each other, by taking part in these different interactions directly from their smartphones.

Proof that events know no boundaries !

At a glance

The live show we worked on for Maxi Zoo demonstrates Wisembly’s ability to unite an audience, even when all the participants of an event are not physically together. The Mediactive Broadcast team (Mediactive Group, of which Wisembly is a part) was able to propose a concept in line with the client’s demand and bring together talented partners.

A plurality of skills signed Mediactive Group, which now allows us to provide comprehensive and quality tools for a project.

For Maxi Zoo, our teams managed the construction of a show from A to Z :
– Development of interactive content (building a script, modules, games, video testimonials, speaker coaching…);
– Complete production chain (rental of our Studio Paradis, chief decorator, motion design, jingles, filming of a best-of…);
– Coordination of reception sites (technical recommendations for the choice of broadcasting locations, tests before and on the D-day, technical hotline).

A big thank you to the Maxi Zoo teams for their trust in this beautiful project !
